First post, yay~

Hallo! My name's Kitty, and Ill be using this blog to chronicle my adventures in cooking (which are many), my attempts at sewing my own clothing (Petticoats!!! *__* ) and many, many other things.
I would have put this first post up sooner (Like last night!)  except for one thing- my computer DIED right in the middle of it. And I mean completely, totally, wont even load the main screen died. I took it to best buy today to see if I could get the Geek Squad to fix it (or if it can even BE fixed), and.. the funniest thing happened to me.
Now let me explain something. I recently started making some of my own things; some of these are things Ive wanted for a while.. like my yarn falls. Now, I love falls. I love kanekalon, I love yarn, i love cyberlox- i love them all. Anything that will let me make it look like Ive got the wildest hair possible, without actually having to grow mine out (its super thick to begin with, and when it gets longer its just a BEAR to deal with, especially in the summer) is something I'll love.  So, a few weeks ago, I made my first yarn fall. Its not perfect- far from it- but its mine.
Anyways, I wore it in today- no outrageous clothing or makeup, no all black ensamble, ect- and while I was filling out paperwork for the GS to take my lappy and work their magic.. some lady whips out her camera phone and starts taking pictures of me.  At first I didnt know what that little noise was, but when I figured it out, I had a bit of a giggle on the inside.  The one that really got me, though, was the lady with the six year old who walked up and asked me if she (the mother, not the daughter) could touch it.

Seriously, people?? This is like the second time I've ever had this happen- the last time was when I was eleven and I lived on okinawa. Then it was a nice little old okinawan lady who gave me tea all the time when i was outside playing at the park in front of the Koui Lodge. But in the middle of best buy, when im already hot, I cant breathe outside because its so muggy and the ac in my truck is dead, and cranky because my computer died and took my writing manuscript with it?
I just smiled and told the lady no. She pouted and grumbled and fussed, but eventually she wandered off, child in tow.

I still giggled on the inside.  I know there are alot of people who will want to tell me 'if you're going to dress/look differently, then you're going to attract attention', and I would agree with them. However- Ive seen enough girls around here, even in my little spit town of Carlisle (we arent even on the kentucky map, hey-ho!) with pink and green and blue and red and purple streaks or panels in their hair. I'd have expected something like that if I'd gone out wearing a corset, petticoats, ect- full or even partial victorian era clothing.

But over a YARN FALL?

...thats just silly.

Anyways. next post, im hoping to do something a bit more appetizing than talk about woolen false hair products. How does yakitori sound? Or maybe swedish meatballs? Or even.. cream filled puff pastry? :D  Comments, suggestions, etc., always appreciated!  Flames and idiots will be quietly ignored.  Have a nice night!
